NC State Students Welcome
NC State students, faculty, and athletes - get a fresh cut 5 miles up Capital Blvd. 24 barbers, walk-ins welcome, fades from $40, cuts from $35.
5 miles north on Capital Boulevard
If you're an NC State student, faculty member, or athlete searching for a barber near campus, The Dominicans Barbershop is a short 5-mile drive up Capital Boulevard. We're at 3601 Capital Blvd, Suite 113, Raleigh, NC 27604 - easy to reach from Hillsborough Street, Western Boulevard, or Sullivan Drive.
NC State's Hillsborough Street corridor has a few barbershops - Man-Mur (open since 1959), University Cuts, and others - but none match what The Dominicans offers: 24 barbers on the floor, 5.0 stars with 1,600+ Google reviews, bilingual barbers (English and Spanish), and expertise in every hair type and style.
Whether you want a skin fade for game day, a clean cut for a job interview, a beard sculpt for a date, or a quick shape-up before class, we've got you. Open 7 days a week from 8:40 AM to 9:00 PM. Walk-ins always welcome. Cuts from $35, fades from $40.
NC State has a diverse student body - over 37,000 students from all over the world, with a growing Hispanic and Latino population (around 11% of the student body). Our bilingual barbers make international and Latino students feel at home, and we handle every hair texture - curly, coily, wavy, and straight.
We're also open later than the Hillsborough Street shops. Most campus-area barbershops close at 5:00 or 6:00 PM. We're open until 9:00 PM every single day, so you can get a cut after your last class, after practice, or after work.
And with 24 barbers, we handle the Saturday rush that every college student knows about. No 2-hour wait like at the campus shops - most walk-ins are in a chair within 15-20 minutes, even on weekends.
The most requested styles from NC State clients include: Skin Fade ($40+) - the classic college cut, sharp for class and the weekend. Mid Fade with textured top - versatile, works for any occasion. Taper Fade - subtle and professional for interviews and internships. Buzz Cut - simple, fast, low-maintenance. Curly Fade - for students with curly or coily hair who want a clean fade with length on top. Beard Trim & Shape ($20+) - keep the beard sharp between cuts.
Not sure what style works for you? Bring a photo from Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest. Our barbers will match the style to your hair type and face shape. We can also recommend a style based on your hair texture, head shape, and personal vibe.
Every cut includes a hot towel finish, precise lineup, and professional styling. You leave looking sharper than you walked in - guaranteed.
From main campus (Hillsborough St area): head north on Capital Boulevard for about 5 miles. We're at 3601 Capital Blvd, Suite 113, on the right side. Free parking out front. Drive time is about 12 minutes.
From Centennial Campus: take Western Blvd to Capital Blvd, then north about 4 miles. About a 10-minute drive. From Wolf Village or Greek Village: take Sullivan Drive to Capital Blvd, then north about 4 miles.
If you don't have a car, GoRaleigh Route 1 runs along Capital Boulevard. You can also Uber or Lyft - it's a $15-20 ride from campus. Many of our NC State clients carpool with friends to split the cost.
Our pricing is student-friendly: Regular Haircut $35+, Skin Fade $40+, Beard Trim $20+, Shape Up $15+, Kids Haircut $25+. We accept cash and credit cards. No appointment needed - walk in whenever it fits your class schedule.
